MACE MUN 2016: Selection for MACEians.

01-02-2016

The MACEPOST Team is proud to be organizing MACE MUN 2016 on 19th, 20th and 21st of February, 2016.

“Model United Nations, also known as Model UN, Mock UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic competition, in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.”

MACE MUN, when it was first organized in 2014, was the first of its kind to be conducted in an engineering college in Kerala. Both MACE MUN 2014 and its second version MACE MUN 2015, received overwhelming responses and saw immense participation from students from all over India.

MACE MUN 2016 will have two councils,
Futuristic UN General Assembly with the agenda: Colonization of Mars – Territorial Claims and Resource Utilization and
UN Security Council with the agenda: Global Security – Threats Posed by Religious Terrorism in the Middle East.
The event will feature around 100 selected students from various parts of the country engaging in debate and discussion on each of the agendas. Every participant will act as the delegate of a country assigned to him/her and formal talks will ensue in accordance with UN protocols and procedures.

Just like in the previous years, we would love to have participants from our college as well. Students of MACE will have to go through a selection procedure to be a part of MACE MUN 2016. If you are interested in the event, please be present in room number M111(Main Block) tomorrow at 4 pm.
